Salt, a basic necessity, has always required a container to keep moisture out, and, sure enough, someone cam up with the salt horn to fit the bill. Made from cow horn, the hand-turned tapered peg snugly fits a 5/16″ hole, and each end has a hardwood plug that;s glued air-tight.
